About Me

Hello, I’m Amari Jones, an aspiring IT systems professional with a passion for building, securing, and improving technology that supports real people and real operations.

I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Computer Information Systems from Texas State University, graduating December 2025 (Cum Laude), with a concentration in Information Security. Through academics and hands-on experience, I’ve built a strong foundation in systems analysis, enterprise IT support, workflow automation, and cybersecurity fundamentals.

My skill set spans Python, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and PowerShell, with experience using Windows Server, Active Directory, JAMF, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI, Report Builder, AiM/ReADY, and Magnolia CMS. I enjoy troubleshooting systems, improving processes, and building tools that reduce manual effort while strengthening reliability and security.

Professionally, I served as an IT Systems Intern with the Facilities Management Systems team at Texas State University, providing Tier I to III support for Windows endpoints and enterprise applications, supporting mobile device deployments via JAMF, contributing to AiM/ReADY enhancements (including JavaScript-based request workflows), performing QA during system upgrades, maintaining university websites using HTML/CSS and Magnolia CMS, and generating ad-hoc and scheduled reports using SQL, SSMS, and Power BI.

Previously, I worked as a Student Locksmith at Ingress Management Services, where I audited and reconciled 5,000+ physical and digital access records, managed access provisioning for campus facilities, trained and supervised student staff, and designed automation solutions that improved efficiency by approximately 40%. These roles strengthened my ability to operate in high-availability environments while balancing usability, security, and operational needs.

I’m also active in the Information Technology Students of America (ITSA) at Texas State, where I served as Vice President of Information Technology and later Executive President. In these roles, I led chapter initiatives, maintained digital infrastructure, organized technical workshops and events, coordinated projects, and supported members through professional development.

Outside of formal roles, I enjoy gaming, building small software projects, playing the drums, and staying consistent in the gym. I’m driven by curiosity, continuous learning, and collaboration, and I’m especially interested in opportunities across IT support, systems engineering, security operations, and digital forensics.
